Nutrition scholar and Dean of Natural Science, Lead City University, Ibadan, Prof. Olusola Ladokun, yesterday, urged Nigerians to cook meats very well before consumption.

He also stressed that government must put in place control measures to prevent Anthrax outbreaks.
Another don and the first female professor of Pharmacy at the University of Ibadan and Vice-Chancellor, Chrisland University, Abeokuta, Prof. Chinedum Babalola, called for investigation and research into claims on Anthrax towards making findings verifiable and sustainable.

They stated these in separate interviews with The Guardian in Ibadan.
Ladokun said: ‘’No cause for alarm, just cook your meat very well; meat and ponmo to be consumed must be well cooked.

‘’To the government, there must be quality control. The right measures to control the quality of meat coming into the country must be put in place.’’

On her part, Babalola said: ‘’We need to investigate and research more on claims and be sure findings are verifiable and validated and sustainable. We must know the source.   You don’t just do blanket things. Let us investigate and give proper information.

‘’Let us set up a task force to investigate and have proper information on it. And let us look at the conditions attached.’’
