Since the beginning of time, people have been recognized, remembered and identified by 2 simple things – their names and what they were known for. Moses and the promised land, Alexandra the great and his great military conquest, Mahatma Gandhi’s non-violent struggle for the emancipation of India, and closer to this side of time in history, Nelson Mandela as the first indigenous President of South Africa, Usain Bolt – fastest sprinter in human history, and Ms. Kamala Harris, the first woman Vice President of the USA,

These defining acts of selflessness, bravely, sheer hard work and gusto all always begin with an inner calling, an undeniable belief in something greater, a conviction of sorts, or what some may simply call destiny.

Some of the above does indeed personify the genealogy of a gentleman, born some 30 something years ago in the largest county in California, and raised in the comprehensive educational system of San Bernardino County, culminating in two master’s degrees including an MBA, and now heads a private mid-sized bio-medical enterprise as CEO, with clients spread across the United States.

So, what inspired this American – Brendan ‘Nnamdi’ Oluoha, whose roots and parents are from Orlu LGA in Imo State, to focus on the premium real estate known as the most populus black nation on earth – Nigeria. Well, perhaps that exactly – a nation of over 180 million people with varying degrees of security challenges that cuts across all aspects of society.

Like Alexandra the great and other inspirational groundbreakers before him, it is the security challenges that became his inspiration to create the architecture for a social enterprise aimed at fostering the creation of accessible tech incubation centers across Nigeria. The goal is to facilitate the creation of functional security and safety apps developed by today’s younger generation of tech savvy under 25’s for deployment on tens of thousands of smart phones across the country.

With the mounting daily security challenges across the West African region, a project start date of late 2023 couldn’t come soon enough. Nnamdi is fully convinced that many of the development challenges Nigeria faces today, can be solved with the total inclusion and the ingenuity of the country’s teeming youth population.
