The Chidi Ibeh faction of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, yesterday, said Igbo need good policies that would foster economic development from the Federal Government than political appointments.
Reacting to re-opening of Seme Border in a statement, in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital, the Secretary General of group, Okechukwu Isiguzoro, thanked President Bola Tinubu for the step.
He also called for more promising policies that would better the lives of Nigerians, insisting that it is what Ndigbo need most now than political appointments. He pleaded with the Federal Government to end the strangulation of Igbo businesses, especially those in Lagos State, saying that persecution of Igbo in Lagos and other South West states, because of alleged allegiance to the Labour Party (LP), should stop.
Isiguzoro stressed that Ndigbo have learned their lessons, and are now more confident and convinced that Tinubu’s policies would favour them and Nigerians.
The statement reads: “It appears President Tinubu came prepared to restructure Nigeria and better the welfares of citizens.
“Igbo have reversed their stance after President Tinubu hit the ground running from the first day in office.
“The Federal Government’s directive to reopening Seme Border was a welcome development, signifying end of the era of political and economic strangulation of Igbo businesses.”
