Brigham Young University recently presented 134 students who graduated with a ‘Pathway Worldwide’ certificates to build a better generation.
The BYU noted that the institution’s courses are designed to help students learn basic skills and gain the confidence and abilities needed to succeed in college and in life.
Addressing the graduates at the Stake Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Abuja, the Online Institute Director, Asuquo Udobong, admonished the graduates to use the knowledge gained to ensure they impact the society.
He said that all the academic programmes run by the institution were accredited by relevant regulatory authorities.
He said: “Remember that every contribution you are doing and actually making today is being celebrated. That is the reason we are here today. And as you are celebrities, prepare yourself to be more inspiration to every human being that you meet.”
In his remarks, International Area Manager, BYU Pathway Worldwide, Mr. Victor Ukorebi, explained that the institution is affordable and also spiritually based, adding that it also helps the students to grow closer to God.
Ukorebi said: “I can tell you that the students that graduated today are prepared to run the economy of this country. They have learnt all the skills that they needed, they were taught about integrity, hard work and so many things.
“So, I think we are prepared to go into the job market and that is our focus. That is what makes us different from other institutions. We want our graduates to jump from classrooms to employment.”
In his remarks, Elder Raymond Egbo, urged the graduates to build in them, an attitude that will make them stand out as good employee in the society.
Egbo said: “Today is a great day for all graduates and their families but I must remind you that the purpose of this education is not solely to enrich oneself but rather, to build our nation.
“We must no longer continue to be selfish but desire to change the dark narrative of the country to one where our tomorrow is seen with hope and peace.”
