Kitchen Safety Rules
• Keep cooking gas cylinder outside your interior space.
• Always put on footwear – Walking barefooted in the kitchen can be detrimental should there be water or oil spill on the floor.
• Wear safe clothing – there’s absolutely no point wearing complicated clothing with dangling or dropping fabrics here and there that could catch fire or pull harmful utensils unknowingly.
• Avoid burns – Ensure absolute presence of mind in the kitchen to avoid burning food or getting your hands or any part of the body burnt.
• Keep under age children away from the kitchen or at least away from the stove.
• Ensure to have a fire alarm – Majority of fires start in the kitchen and you’re most likely to have a fatal fire outbreak in your home if you don’t own a smoke alarm.
• Sanitise your kitchen – clean your kitchen with antibacterial cleaner as often as possible, in order to prevent bacteria and germs from spreading.
• Ensure your oven is regularly cleaned after use.
• Don’t forget to wash your hands.
• Have a fire extinguisher and know how to use it.
