Despite their separation, he emphasised that they remain a close family and hold deep love and respect for each other, as well as for everything they have built together and will continue to build. He requested privacy to be respected for the well-being of their children.

Trudeau’s path crossed with Sophie Grégoire’s in Montreal in 2002, where they eventually got married in 2005 and became parents to Xavier, Ella-Grace, and Hadrien.
Sophie Grégoire Trudeau pursued a degree in communications at the University of Montreal and later worked in sales, advertising, and as a television and radio reporter.
Last year, Grégoire Trudeau shared an Instagram post celebrating their wedding anniversary, acknowledging the challenges and constant work that come with long-term relationships. She expressed that love is true when it brings safety, freedom, and personal growth.
The couple has been seen attending significant events together, such as King Charles’ coronation in London and a meeting with US President Joe Biden in March.
Despite their separation, they continue to co-parent their children and maintain a respectful relationship.
