The competition which is in its third edition had over 200 hundred entries with only 15 participants making it to the finals.
At the event which held at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, the young people displayed their various dance skills which is in the organiser’s bid to transform the youth through the power of dance.
Speaking at the event, comedian Godwin Komone, popularly known as Gordons, who headlined the event noted that this has given young people the opportunity to express their talent and make a living from it. He also stated that the government ran a risk of losing the focus of the youth to many social vices if they failed to offer them any meaningful engagement.
Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Asha Initiative, Steven Robinson, said that the rewards for winners as the event is life changing and will make a difference, “we will ensure to stay in touch with the victors to monitor their all-round development.”
For CEO, Real Made Africa Concert, Edore Churchill, the Ijoya Rumble has been self-funded by our partners from the Asha Initiative. However, this year we had a number of sponsors who brought in their products to support the initiative” he said.
