Lawan donates school building in Yobe

Immediate past President of the Senate and lawmaker representing Yobe North Senatorial District, Ahmad Lawan, at the weekend, donated the newly completed building of Federal Science and Technical College, Gashua, to the state government.

A statement by his Media Adviser, Dr Ezrel Tabiowo, said Lawan had facilitated the establishment and construction of the college while in office between 2019 and 2023.

According to him, the state government is to hand over the institution to the Federal Government through the Federal Ministry of Education.

The college has several ultra-modern facilities to provide students, teachers and administrative staff with requisite learning and work environment.

Among the facilities provided, according to the state government, including an administrative block, staff offices, two blocks of offices, a library, 500-capacity auditorium, laboratory complex, clinic, five blocks of female hostels, five blocks of male hostels, sports complex with offices, three twin blocks of classes, a block of classes, workshop complex, ICT centre, seven solar-powered boreholes, gate house and perimeter fencing.

Lawan said the learning institution remains a landmark citadel that would provide limitless opportunities to youths in the years ahead.
