Taylor Swift, SZA, and Doja Cat lead the nominations for the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards, with eight, six, and five nods each, respectively.

Swift is nominated for Video of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop Video, Best Direction, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Visual Effects, and Best Art Direction for her “Anti-Hero” music video. She is also nominated for Artist of the Year, alongside SZA, Doja Cat, Karol G, Shakira, and Beyoncé.

SZA is nominated for Video of the Year, Song of the Year, Best RnB Video, Best Art Direction for “Shirt”, Best Editing, Best Direction for her “Kill Bill” music video.

Doja Cat is nominated for Video of the Year, Art Direction, Best Collaboration, Best Direction, and Artist of the Year for her songs “Attention” and “I Like You” featuring Post Malone.

Other artists with multiple nominations include Kim Petras (five), Miley Cyrus (five), Nicki Minaj (five), Olivia Rodrigo (five), and Sam Smith (five).

The 2023 MTV VMAs will be held on September 12 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. Fan voting begins on August 9.
