Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (PHCCIMA) has charged newly registered exporters with the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC), South South region, to leverage the platform created to ensure smooth networking with business owners beyond the shores of the country.
The President of the chamber, Mike Elechi, gave the advice at a one-day mentorship training on export readiness for registered exporters drawn from Abia, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Delta and Rivers states, which was held at the chamber’s secretariat in Port Harcourt, yesterday.
Elechi noted that as the leader of the organised private sector in the state, PHCCIMA has a wide network to assist business owners in networking their products. He emphasised that the trade mission desks of the chamber and embassies will also assist with the networking of businesses and products to countries where the products are directly needed.
Elechi, who commended the NEPC for giving opportunities to business owners in the non-oil sector to export their homemade products to the competitive international market, used the medium to call on members of the chamber to make good use of the opportunity to showcase their products to the world.
