The government made the pledge at a two-day training and empowerment programme for youths and women in Oyo South senatorial district, Ibadan.

The Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre, Abuja under the Federal Ministry of Youths and Social Development sponsored the training, while Kruggerbrent and co. Nigeria anchored it.

Over 50 youths and women were trained in various vocations, including bead making, Oluwatoyin Olayinka from the Federal Ministry of Youths and Social Development, who anchored the skill acquisition project, said it was meant to empower the youths and women in Oyo State.

According to her, it is a programme that is close to the heart of the ministry using its parastatal, Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre, Abuja.

“We are here to ensure the programme achieves its aims by empowering over 50 youths and women. They are learning vocations to empower them. The youths must keep making money legitimately. It is possible to make money legitimately that is why we are encouraging them to embrace this empowerment,” she stated.
