Edo gubernatorial aspirant, Ehizojie Ohiowele, pledges educational reforms if elected

Dr Ehizojie Imafidon Ohiowele, a governorship aspirant under the Labour Party for the 2024 Edo gubernatorial election, has vowed to, among other agenda, initiate reforms in the state’s education sector, if elected governor in September 2024.

Unlike typical politicians who promote regular narratives in their manifesto, Ehizojie Ohiowele, a technocrat and youngest of all the aspirants for the gubernatorial race, naturally appeals to the needs of the youthful population in the state, interrogating challenges that continues to bedeviling one of Nigeria’s notable states, which according to him, is poor standard of education.

Ehizojie Ohiowele argued that one of the ways he will improve and restore the fast-degrading value in the state is to invest in educational infrastructure. And rightly so, the entrepreneur and retired banker with 25 years of experience in both private and public sector, is a product of exposure to some of the world’s best academic, which gives an idea of his mindset about the need for the provision of standard education and the role it plays in the overall development.

“As a governorship aspirant who upholds the principles of honesty and transparency, I am deeply committed to rebuilding the educational sector of our dear state, by ensuring we also focus on our value system when elected to office. I believe that leadership cannot just about holding a position of power, but also inspiring others through knowledge, experience and a dedication to lifelong learning.

“I will champion education and prioritize policies that promotes improved education outcomes for all citizen of Edo State, especially the training of our teachers. I will work diligently to invest in our educational infrastructure, ensuring that every child has access to quality education and every teacher is equipped with the necessary resources to excel in their roles”, added Ohiowele, an experienced banker and serial entrepreneur.

Ohiowele, whose academic records are indicative of his vast knowledge and experience in leadership and revolutionary ideas, said: “After I bagged my first degree at the University of Benin, I attended the following foreign renowned universities in my quest for more knowledge: Harvard Business School, Boston, USA. Said Business School, University of Oxford, UK, International Institute for Management Development, Lausanne, Switzerland, INSEAD University, France. Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Boston, USA. Cardiff University, Wales, University of Azteca, Mexico, International School of Management, Paris, France.

“I hold a Ph.D. in Business administration from the University of Azteca, Mexico and I was also bestowed with an Honorary Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) specializing in Banking & Finance from the London Graduate School in England, UK”, added Ehizojie Ohiowele.
