Nigerian and Nollywood actor, Odunlade Adekola has won his first international award, at the META awards, with his film “Orisa”, while among the top five best grossing films in the Nollywood industry.

The film was voted best film-Africa, the actor shared his congratulatory message on his Instagram handle, posting. 

“Glory be to GodCONGRATULATIONS TO US OOOOOOThe first international AWARD for ORISA. Congratulations to all the cast and crew of this wonderful Movie ORISA thank thank thank you so much I LOVE you all. And special thanks to @filmonestudios @filmoneng. No 1 and still counting….”

He also shared a joint congratulatory message by the organisers acknowledging his artistic prowess. The post also read,

Since it’s release, (Orisa), has taken incredible strides in the cinemas, and as at August, is has grossed over #60m, ranking number 42 on all-time most grossing Hollywood films. 

While approximately it has made ₦60,048,475, fellow Nollywood star,  Funke Akindele’s “Battle on Buka Street” is currently ranked number one, grossing approximately ₦668,423,056 on the list. The top five ranking films are “Battle on Buka Street”, “Omo Ghetto” (The saga), “The wedding party”, 1 & 2, and “Chief Daddy”.
