The continuation of the trial of the former Director General of the Nigeria Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Patrick Akpobolokemi and five others has been adjourned to February 28.

At the new date, the last prosecution witness would be cross-examined.Akpobolokemi was charged by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) with five others on 22 counts bordering on money laundering.

The accused were alleged to have converted to their use, a total of N2.6 billion between December 23, 2013 and May 28, 2015.Others charged are Captain Agaba, Ekene Nwakuche and Governor Juan as well as Blockz and Stonz Limited, Kenzo Logistics Limited and Al-Kenzo Logistic Limited.

The trial was earlier slated for January 9 to 13 for the defence counsel to cross-examine Mr. Chukwuma Orji, the 11th witness for the EFCC as well as for the continuation of the trial.
