The rapper was declared dead on November 15, an announcement which made strong waves in the entertainment industry.
However on Thursday, Oladips shared a video where he refutes the death reports. As the soundtrack from his latest album, “Ori,” plays in the background, Oladips assures fans that he is indeed alive and kicking.
In the video, he promises to reveal the details behind the death hoax in an upcoming live Instagram session with his fans. However, he adds that this revelation will only happen when he feels emotionally ready.
Oladips expressed, “Everyone just dey talk their own. People like to talk a lot… Right now, I will just focus on getting better. When I feel like I’m good enough to address everybody, I’ll come on live and tell you people my side of the story. Na wetin I con tell you people be that. Pray for Oladips.”
The rapper became a hot topic after his management initially released a statement announcing his passing on November 14. The statement cited battles within himself for over two years and requested privacy for the family.
However, just two days after the announcement, Qdot, a close friend and singer, posted on social media, asserting that Oladips was alive and well. This led to widespread skepticism about the accuracy of the initial death announcement.
In response to the uproar, Oladips shared a video of himself dancing to a song from his new album, “Superhero Adugbo,” on Instagram, captioning it, “Proof of life.”
The rapper’s journey from rumored death to asserting his vitality has sparked discussions and relief among his fans.
