Minister woos stakeholders to solve education sector’s woes

Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mammam, has urged stakeholders to complement the government in resolving challenges bedevilling the sector.
Represented by Director, Legal Services in the sector, Mrs. Ezonebi Blessing Azorbo, the made the call at the 35th convocation and 76th anniversary of Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) in Lagos.

Mammam said the government was aware of the pressing problems that include capacity building and institutional management.
  
“It is imperative to emphasise that addressing these challenges requires collaborative efforts beyond the government,” he said. The minister pleaded with stakeholders to be helpful.
  
On his part, rector of the college, Dr. Ibraheem Abdul, while appreciating the government’s gesture, appreciated management, staff, students, alumni, community members, security agencies and key players for their loyalty, commitment and steadfastness.  
  
“The modest achievements recorded during these few months of this administration could not have been possible without your support and encouragement.”
 
“It wouldn’t have been possible to have a successful accreditation exercise, matriculation and convocation all within the first six months of this administration without your full support and cooperation,” he said. The institution conferred fellowships on Lady Christine Doja Otedola, Hassan Sunmonu and Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State.
