The closing ceremony, hosted in Ward B of Amuwo-Odofin, was a culmination of a month-long celebration of sportsmanship, resilience, and the indomitable spirit of the Amuwo-Odofin community.
The founder, Oluwaseun Ayeni, expressed gratitude to all participants and contributors, Ayeni emphasized the transformative impact of AmuwoGames, stating, “This is not a farewell but a new beginning.
“Until we meet again on these fields of dreams, may your spirits remain high, and may the legacy of AmuwoGames continue to inspire us all.”
One of the sponsors of AmuwoGames 2023, Tech1M, presented a generous 50k prize to each category winner in the chess tournament.
Nirvana Water awarded medals to the Walkathon and Cycling winners, and on behalf of their sister brand Smoov Chapman, presented medals to the 5-aside soccer champions.

Lanre Shittu Motors presented 100k each to the gold medalists in the Scrabble tournament, along with 30k and 20k consolation prizes for the 2nd and 3rd place, respectively.
The Golden Penny Volleyball Tournament concluded with Festac Bulls emerging victorious after a fierce 3-round final against the Festac Unicorns.
Golden Penny presented medals and prizes to the winners, adding a golden touch to the closing ceremony.
Stella Osafile, a lawmaker representing of Amuwo-Odofin 1 constituency in the House of Assembly, and Olulade Bethel Omoniyi, the Ward B councillor, highlighted the positive impact of community events like AmuwoGames.
Pastor Oluwaseyi Adegoke-Adeyemo, the publisher of Inside Watch Africa, Lafup, and Indomix was also present at the event with their presence.

The final football match witnessed a showdown between the defending champions, Mile 2 Lions, and the Festac Bulls. Mile 2 Lions, however, clinched victory with a score of 2-1.
The intense battle on the field reflected in the overall medals table, with Mile 2 Lions securing the top spot with 5 Golds, 4 Silvers, and 2 Bronzes.
Mile 2 Hawks closely followed with 5 Golds and 4 Silvers. Festac Bulls claimed the third spot with 4 Golds, 3 Silvers, and 3 Bronzes, while GRA Rhinos, second in the last edition, secured the last position with 1 Gold, 3 Silvers, and 5 Bronzes.
