Catholic Archbishop, Ooni, Emir of Kano preach peace, unity

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi; Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero and Catholic Archbishop of Lagos, Most Rev. Alfred Adewale Martins, at the weekend, pleaded with Nigerians to spread the gospel of peace, unity, love and tolerance in the country.

They made the plea during the inauguration of E.Y.O Cultural Renaissance Centre and Christmas Carol organised by the Erelu Yeye Oodua Foundation.

The two monarchs were the grand royal fathers for the event held in Lagos.

Martins, in his sermon, said Nigerians should embrace hope and show love as Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.

The Archbishop, who commended Abiola Dosunmu for her various initiatives to foster peace and unity among Nigerians, expressed optimism that the situation in the country would improve.

The cleric, therefore, asked Nigerians to preach the message of hope like Jesus Christ, saying that the power of hope resonates with Nigerians.

Dosunmu said the Oodua Cultural Renaissance Centre would be a training ground for languages, promotion of local cuisine, art and as well build talents and the economy.

She, therefore, charged Nigerians to imbibe the spirit of love and tolerance, which were some of the virtues of Jesus Christ and also to continue to live in peace.
