The Wings of Compassion Foundation said it has tailored action plans and would engage policy actors and social leaders to address issues that have a positive impact on human capital development as well as enhance better living standards in communities.
The Executive Director of Wings of Compassion Foundation, Temiloluwa Ogunniyi, stated this in a statement to unveil the non-governmental organisation in Ibadan, Oyo State.
Ogunniyi said the foundation was working with the necessary government agencies to address issues that would have a positive impact on the people in the area of entrepreneurship, education, peacekeeping and health among others.
Speaking on the entrepreneurship drive, Ogunniyi said the foundation has set in motion a mechanism to encourage more people to become self-reliant and employers of labour.
He said the foundation will organise practical skills acquisition training and mentorship fora, where people will be connected to those who are already established and successful in certain areas of entrepreneurship, with trainees for a direct impact on skill set.
He said the foundation will be empowering deserving candidates with the necessary work tools in their chosen fields.
Ogunniyi said having realised that without peace, nothing meaningful could be achieved, the foundation is poised to engage policy actors and social leaders with concepts, ideas, and suggestions that can prevent the emergence, escalation, and proliferation of conflict which can collapse state structures.
He said the foundation will also advocate for improved social, mental, and physical standards of people, especially the governed, to build peaceful and just social state systems that will enhance better living standards.
Ogunniyi said it will also foster peaceful cohesion within communities/states, thereby ensuring people’s response and support to government authorities in developing their various communities.
He noted that the goal of the foundation is to strive to have more Nigerianas have access to good and quality education.
According to him, the foundation will encourage students or prospective students with educational materials, scholarships, school uniforms, and footwear, organise career seminars, and pitch for educational policies among others.
Ogunniyi said the foundation, in its health drive, is geared towards organising free medical care outreach, donating drugs and pieces of equipment to primary health care centres, free health care insurance, and sensitisation programmes on healthy lifestyles.
“These are some of the lofty visions and components of what we seek to contribute to humanity. Let me state unequivocally that we are open to a partnership that will further deliver on our lofty vision and mission. I call on the general public, spirited individuals, and kind-hearted people to please support us as we strive towards making the world a better place, one society after another,” he appealed.
