In a bid to complement the various efforts by both the Kogi State and Federal Governments to ease the hardship currently faced by the people of his senatorial district, Senator representing Kogi West, Sunday Karimi has requested the compilation of the list of 4,250 constituents towards assessment of the Federal Government palliatives.
According to a statement by the Sunday Karimi Media Team issued on Wednesday, 50 constituents from each of the 85 electoral wards in Kogi West Senatorial District are expected to benefit from the empowerment scheme as part of the efforts by the federal government to ameliorate the impact of the removal of petrol subsidy on the citizens.
While details of the palliative care for the prospective beneficiaries are yet to be unveiled, the statement further described the initiative as an effort at bringing back government participation and engagement to the people particularly at the grassroots and in accordance with the “Renewed Hope” mantra of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration.
“This is one of the gestures of the Federal Government through the people’s representative, Senator Sunday Karimi to alleviate the sufferings of our people at the grassroots. On this note, Senator Sunday Karimi has requested the various Local Government Chairmen, leaders and relevant stakeholders in Kogi West to collate 50 names of eligible constituents per ward across the seven local government areas, which is now nearing full compilation and for necessary actions”.
