Popular Afrobeats artist BurnaBoy recently shared his Christmas plans. The singer disclosed that he is set to spend the festive season with his grandmother, adding a heartwarming touch to his holiday celebration.

Taking to his social media page, Burna Boy expressed that his grandmother had always encouraged him to return home, creating a sentimental connection to his hit song, “Thanks.” Reflecting on the past, he shared, “In the past, my grandmother used to be the one urging me to come back home.”
He continued, “Now, whenever I return, she’s visibly anxious and already inquiring about when I’ll be leaving. This is the inspiration behind ‘Thanks.’ I’ve decided to accompany only her this December for the sake of tranquility and harmony.”
The Grammy winner also revealed that his grandmother serves as the inspiration for his song titled ‘Thanks.’ The track is featured on his seventh studio album, “I Told Them.”
In a recent post on his official X account on Sunday, the singer shared that the song was born out of the experiences with his grandmother, who always urged him to return home. Interestingly, whenever BurnaBoy visited, she would swiftly inquire about his departure.
Discussing his plans for the upcoming Yuletide season, Burna Boy informed his followers that he intends to spend December with his grandmother. In his post, he stated, “My grandma used to be crying for me to come back home; now she’s on edge every time I come back home and is already asking when I’m leaving. This is why I said ‘Thanks.’ I’m rolling with only her this December for peace to reign.”
