Fayemi, Olubadan preach unity, peace, tolerance at Christmas

Former Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, yesterday, extended his heartfelt wishes of peace, goodwill and prosperity to all Nigerians.

In a message by Head of the Fayemi Media Office, Ahmad Sajoh, the former Chairman of Governors’ Forum acknowledged Nigerians’ resilience in the face of challenges throughout the year and urged that in the spirit of Christmas, they should all come together in celebration, irrespective of religious or cultural differences, to foster a sense of togetherness and unity.

Fayemi said: “This festive season signifies a time for reflection, gratitude, and rekindling the flames of hope and unity that underpin our nation. It is a time to celebrate the values of love, compassion, and generosity, which was illustrated by the birth of Jesus Christ.”

Also, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Lekan Balogun, Alli Okunmade II, has enjoined Christians to take proper lessons in the birth of Jesus Christ as signified by the yearly Christmas celebration.

This was contained in a message by the Olubadan,which was made available to journalists in Ibadan by his Personal Assistant (Media) Oladele Ogunsola, yesterday.

Oba Balogun said the love of God for mankind upon which the coming into this world of Jesus Christ was predicated and whose birth the Christmas signifies, and His life while on earth and His remembrance over 2000 years after his exit from the world, are more than enough lessons for all.

The monarch said: “Our love for one another should never be compromised for whatever reason. We should live for ourselves by being caring, concerned and ready to make sacrifice.”

“Our leaders should at all times be conscious of the fact that they are in positions to affect people’s lives positively.”
