Taraba State chapter of Association of Mobile Money and Bank Agents in Nigeria (AMMBAN) has called on Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and other commercial banks to urgently address the challenges of cash scarcity and fraud nationwide.
In a New Year message delivered in Jalingo, yesterday, by the state chairman, Bulu Daniel, AMMBAN emphasised its crucial role in bridging financial gaps, particularly in rural areas.
He stressed the need for collective efforts to meet the financial needs of the population and combat the high level of unbanked individuals. Expressing regret over the financial crises faced by its members in 2023, which he attributed to the implementation of the cashless policy and subsequent cash scarcity, he call on the authority to insert the right peg in the right hole so as to arrest the situation.
Daniel called for prioritised collaborations and teamwork among stakeholders, urging members to adhere to ethical standards, professionalism, and safety protocols in their operations.
