Kidnapped Lagos PDP chairman regains freedom

The kidnapped chairman of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Lagos chapter, Philip Aivoji, has been released by his abductors.

Ogun State Police Command in a statement said Aivoji was released early Monday, January 29.

The Command revealed that the victim had reunited with his family.

Also, the police assured that efforts are in top gear to track down the abductors of the PDP chieftain.

Aivoji was kidnapped on Friday, 26 January 2024, on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

The Guardian gathered that Aivoji was kidnapped last week while returning from a stakeholders meeting in Oyo state organised by Governors Seyi Makinde and Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State.
