Brethren, in the past few weeks in our Khutbah, we have been discussing Iqomatis- Salaat as the strategy to acquire the spirit and skills of the pure shahadah and established it as the platform to integrate Ikhlasun Deen, and Zakah. We have, also, introduced ‘The Actions in Salaat’ as: Sa’yu, Takbirat; Qiraatul Qura’n; Tasbih; Istighfar, Dua’ and Sujud. We have also briefly discussed Qiyyam (Standing) in its ramifications.

Today, we have introduced Sujud which is the consumation of the actions of salaat and the symbolic manifestation of our faith and submission to Allaah.
The following is the summary of the implications of Sujud:
It is a sign of the willingness of the believers to align with the family of nature as everything makes Sujud (Q13:15; 16:49; 22:18).
The genuflection is a mystical completion of the bodily writing of Allaahu which starts with the writing of Alif with the Standing. The physical action of sujud is to demonstrate obedience and submission to Allaah to oppose and contradict Shaytan who disobeyed Allaah when commanded to prostrate to Adam and then earned the anger of Allaah.
The physical contact with the earth is, also, a superior mystical connection and initiation. This fairly global practice is done with the devil but Allaah ordained it for Himself made it to glue man to his source.
This position is the closest to Allaah according to the Prophet and is therefore the highest opportunity to connect to and lift our spiritual status as we merge with nature, spirit and the light. Blessings and Mercy of Allaah pervade this situation.

Physiologically, the believers in SUJUD are resting on the eight most critical bones:
Forehead that houses the front brain which coordinates most functions of the body. Through this process, all harmful radiation taken in through various means are discharged to the earth. 2. The cartilage of the nose through which carbon dioxide and other armful gases are expelled. 3&4. The bones of the palms, forearms, the joints of upper part of the body.
5&6. The bones of the knees, the vertebral and waist to stretch the whole body out and upgrade the health of the worshipper. 7&8. The toes of the feet as they are brought together.
It is clear from the physiological observations that Sujud is a great exercise for the assessment and evaluation of our health. Socio-economically, Sujud is a call back to the earth as the natural resources common to mankind. We are from it, we feed, nourish ourselves and obtain our prosperity from it. If we are poor, it must be because we are running away from the earth to which we are connected at least 34 times a day.
The Muslims have no business with poverty if we connect appropriately with the earth. Allah says in Qur’an 3V14: “Beautified for people is the love of that which they desire – of women and sons, heaped-up sums of gold and silver, fine branded horses, and cattle and tilled land. That is the enjoyment of worldly life, but Allāh has with Him the best return (i.e., Paradise)”.
Go back to the earth and be prosperous. That is the message and the call when we pray and do Sujud.
