Ndidi applauds support, pledges victory against South Africa
Super Eagles’ midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi, has promised to give his all for Nigeria’s victory over South Africa in the forthcoming 2026 World Cup qualifier in Uyo.
Nigeria will host South Africa on June 7 before travelling to Cote d’Ivoire to meet Benin Republic in their fourth game of the 2026 World Cup African qualifying series.
Thanking Nigerians for supporting his club, Leicester City, during their campaign to return to the English Premiership, Ndidi said he would repay them with a win against the Bafana Bafana on June 7.
Ndidi is currently on holiday in Lagos after helping Leicester City to gain promotion to the English Premier League. As part of his itinerary, he has paid courtesy visits to the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, and the Minister of Sports, John Enoh, in Abuja.
“I am greatly encouraged to participate in sports development and to wear the green and white jersey of this beautiful country,” he stated.
