Hardship: Reshuffle cabinet to address challenges, CNYCM tells Tinubu

The Coalition of Northern Youths Consultative Movement (CNYCM) has called on President Bola Tinubu to reassess his cabinet and inject action-oriented ministers who can drive meaningful change.

At a state of the nation press conference in Abuja, the General Secretary of CNYCM, Bilal Galadima, and the Kaduna State Coordinator, Yusuf Audu, stressed the need for a cabinet reshuffle to address the country’s pressing challenges.

The group said, “We urge President Tinubu to appoint ministers who are result-driven, visionary, and committed to the nation’s growth and development.”

The group also appealed for dialogue regarding the planned protests against bad governance, saying that the development has created an atmosphere of tension and uncertainty nationwide.

According to the group, the escalating hardship, characterised by skyrocketing costs of food, medicine and basic commodities, has pushed many ordinary Nigerians to the brink.

The CNYCM further urged all stakeholders to engage in constructive dialogue to address the pressing issues and work towards a united front for a better Nigeria.

CNYCM also expressed concern over the deteriorating insecurity in the country, particularly in the northern region, which has led to a rise in criminal activities among youth, including kidnapping and armed robbery.

It urged the government to take immediate action to address the pressing issues, ensure the safety and well-being of citizens and create opportunities for the youth.

CNYCM said they are appealing for dialogue due to the notable achievements of the Tinubu administration despite the current hardship threatening to undermine its progress.

Acknowledging that the government has made significant progress in various areas, the group regretted that the current hardship and insecurity threaten to undermine its efforts.

CNYCM called on the government to take immediate action to address these challenges and create a conducive environment for the youth to thrive.

According to the coalition, by sustaining its achievements and addressing the pressing issues, the government can ensure a brighter future for Nigerian youth and promote peace, stability and development in the country.

The group specifically identified Olubunmi Tunji Ojo, Nyesom Wike and David Umahi as “Cabinet Champions” whose performances have been impressive.

“The likes of Tunji Ojo, Wike, and Umahi have demonstrated exceptional leadership and should be considered for key positions in the cabinet,” the group said.

Minister of Interior, Tunji-Ojo, was commended for his visionary reforms and improvements, which have yielded remarkable results.

The group noted that Tunji-Ojo’s dedication to excellence has significantly enhanced the ministry’s performance.

Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Wike, was lauded for his transformative efforts in Abuja, making the city a more conducive and welcoming environment for residents and visitors alike.

According to the group, Wike’s leadership has had a profound impact on the nation’s capital.

The CNYCM believes that acknowledging these achievements is essential to encourage the government to continue its good work and address the pressing issues facing the nation.

The Coalition reiterated its commitment to supporting the government’s efforts to address the nation’s challenges, but stressed the need for a more dynamic and performance-oriented approach.
