PHOTOS: Women group storms FCT, says no to protest
Over 3 million members of the Women for Peace, Security, and Social Inclusion Initiative (WPSSI) gathered at Eagle Square, Abuja, on Saturday to announce the suspension of the planned nationwide protest.
The event aimed to counter the scheduled protest from August 1 to August 10, 2024, and offer peaceful solutions to the country’s challenges.

The event brought together women from all 36 states, united in their quest for peace and prosperity.
WPSSI Chairperson, Tinu Alade-Abiola, expressed support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his administration, urging patience and understanding.
Alade-Abiola talked about the importance of dialogue, unity, and commitment to justice, fairness, and respect for diversity.
She said, “Peace is not merely the absence of violence but the presence of harmony, understanding, and respect among all individuals and communities. It is the foundation upon which we can build a prosperous and secure future for ourselves and our children.”
