ASPAMDA won’t join mass protest, says association leader
Auto Spare Parts and Machinery Dealers Association (ASPAMDA), Trade Fair Complex, Lagos, said its members would not be part of the planned mass protest expected to start from August 1.
President of ASPAMDA, Ngozi Emechebe, said the planned protest might end up causing chaos, leading to loss of lives and properties.
He spoke on the issue at a press conference in Lagos at the weekend.
According to him, though Nigerians are currently facing difficulties, there is a need to give President Bola Tinubu some time to make the expected changes.
He said: “It is clear that there are challenges in the country, but let us not compound the situation by embarking on protests which may lead to loss of lives and properties. Let us give President Bola Tinubu some more time. He has only spent a little over one year in office. ASPMDA identifies that this situation did not start today in Nigeria. With the steps Tinubu is taking, Nigeria will bounce back very soon.’
