Reports have emerged about clashes between Protesters and some youths in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State capital during the hardship protest.
The end bad governance protesters who were accompanied by two police vans were allegedly attacked unexpectedly from behind with bottles, planks of wood and other weapons, by those alleged to be against the protest.
The security officers monitoring the situation responded effectively before it spin out of control. The protesters were also heared singing solidarity songs carrying placards with various inscriptions such as ‘Restore fuel subsidy and reduce the price of petroleum products now’, ‘We are dying of hunger in our own country’, ‘We are suffering so much now’ and ‘We can no longer feed our children’, among others.
Protesters marched through the Yenagoa-Mbiama Road and the Melford Okilo Road defying the morning showers to register their grievances.

Speaking about the incident, The secretary of the Bayelsa state vigilante Innocent Kalango said: “we came out in solidarity with the Bayelsa State government because of the massive infrastructural projects being done by the present administration. We are just developing in Bayelsa and we will not want to see the structures on ground destroyed.”
Signs that there would be protest only started in Yenegoa, around 10am, with security personnel seen on ground as early as 7.30am at major junctions and roundabout with residents going about their businesses.
The #endbadgovernance protest is currently gaining momentum, in many parts of the country, as states like Oyo, have also joined after early rumours of shunning the protest.
However, curfew have also being declared in some places in states like Borno, Kano and Yola, due to the violence been reported in those places.
