Following a comprehensive tour of protest sites around Abuja, including the National Stadium, Lugbe, Deidei, Nyanya, and Gwagwalada, the Abuja Resident Youth Association (ARYA) has commended the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) and the federal government for their proactive measures in engaging with the youth of the FCT.
In a press briefing after the tour and a series of stakeholder meetings with groups such as artisans and transport workers, ARYA President Akoshile Mukhtar addressed news reporters, highlighting the association’s appreciation for the Honourable Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike. Mukhtar praised the minister for his dedication to understanding and addressing the grievances of the youth, which has led to significant high-level pronouncements and administrative reforms aimed at promoting youth inclusiveness in governance.
Mukhtar called on the FCTA to further integrate residents into the administration of the FCT. “Ensuring their voices are heard and fostering a sense of ownership will strengthen Abuja’s role as a microcosm of Nigeria’s diversity and unity,” he emphasized.

The ARYA leader issued a stern warning to agents of destruction aiming to target the FCT to push their false narratives. “Abuja is not a battleground for your divisive agendas. Any attempts to destabilize our capital city will be met with unwavering resistance,” Mukhtar stated firmly.
Highlighting the continuous efforts of ARYA to promote peace and dialogue, Mukhtar reassured that the association is actively engaging with various non-indigenous youth groups in Abuja. He noted that the administration under Barrister Nyesom Wike, with the full backing of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is committed to addressing the concerns of all residents.
Mukhtar also revealed that ARYA is working closely with security agencies to prevent any breakdown of law and order in Abuja. “Our collaboration includes sharing intelligence on potential flashpoints, which has been effectively acted upon in the last few days,” he explained.
Concluding his address, Mukhtar reiterated ARYA’s dedication to maintaining peace and order in Abuja. “We stand firm against any attempts to sow discord and are committed to supporting the government’s efforts to create an inclusive and harmonious environment for all residents,” he declared.
The leadership of ARYA, through their on-ground inspections and ongoing dialogues with diverse groups, continues to work diligently to ensure that Abuja remains a peaceful and prosperous city for all Nigerians.
