Ahead of the forthcoming local council elections in Akwa Ibom State, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state has elected its 31 chairmanship and 368 councillorship candidates through an affirmative nomination process.

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, who participated in the primary election in NsitUbium Local Council, ascribed the success of the elections largely to the peace enjoyed in the state, which, he said, is a result of the general disposition of his administration and the people of the state.

The governor and leader of PDP in the state appreciated the people of the area and Akwa Ibom people in general, particularly party faithful, for conducting themselves during the exercise peacefully, especially in a period where several parts of the country are not enjoying the ambience experienced in Akwa Ibom. He reiterated his commitment to unveil and implement more welfare packages for the youths.

Umo congratulated the chairmanship candidate of NsitUbium, Alfred Charles, and all councilorship candidates, who emerged from the nomination exercise,.
