Started banking operations on December 2, 2019, having secured its license on July 3, the same year, from Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), TAJ Bank opened two branches in Abuja and Kano for business. Eight months later, precisely August 24, 2020, it extended its operations to Sokoto State.

To achieve its target, the bank has mapped out plans to open at least 50 branches across major state capitals and commercial cities in the country before the end of 2025. It has also introduced e-channels, which include agent banking to reach the unbanked populace and to significantly promote financial inclusion in the country. This strategy also takes into cognisance the need to open branches outside Nigeria.
