Bauchi gov’s security aide threatens journalists 

A security operative attached to Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has threatened to deal with journalists.

Members of the Correspondents’ Chapel were at the palace of Emir of Katagum as the governor visited after hoodlums razed the council secretariat in Azare during a violent anti-hunger protest.

The threat came as the journalists were trying to find where to record the governor’s speech when a Department of State Services (DSS) operative, simply identified as Abdul, ordered them to vacate the hall.

The reporters were still sourcing for an alternative spot to do their job when the overzealous security aide again confronted them, ranting: “This is just the beginning. You challenged me? You will see.

“This thing that you have done, this is the beginning.”

Even when a reporter brought to his notice that his words sounded like a threat, the officer stood his ground.

“He once molested me at a function, he is quite aggressive,” a Government House crew journalist, who pleaded anonymity, said.

Similarly, some of the personnel had last Thursday brutalised a person living with disability (PWD),  identified as Hamza Waziri, who is now being hospitalised at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital.

Waziri was participating in the #EndBadGovernance protest in front of the seat of power.

He was seen in a trending video where four police officers attached to the Government House entrance were assaulting him.

Also, Aisha Dogara, a resident of Bauchi, who participated in the demonstration, was assaulted and stripped.
