The Federal Government (FG) has said it is advancing Nigeria’s Green Initiative in its effort to create more jobs.

The Federal Ministry of Environment made this known in a statement shared on its X account on Friday morning.

“Under the Minister, Balarabe Abbas Lawal, the Federal Ministry of Environment is advancing Nigeria’s Green Initiative,” the statement read.

“The initiative will focus on job creation, youth employment, and economic development in line with President Bola Tinubu’s vision.”

The Ministry of Environment stated that in 2024, the National Clean Cooking Policy is reducing emissions, improving health, and creating millions of jobs.

According to the statement, this is being achieved by empowering local manufacturers and training youths in clean cookstove production.

From solar-powered streetlights to Waste-to-Energy projects, the Ministry of Environment added that it is driving a low-carbon future.

It also said that upcoming projects like solar plants for federal institutions will ensure that every Nigerian citizen benefits from a greener and prosperous future.
