No lives lost during #EndBadGovernance protest in Kano – Police
The police command in Kano on Monday disclosed no life was lost during the #EndBadgovernance protest that subsequently turned violence in the state.
The police claim was in reaction to accounts of alleged killings of protesters by security personnel along the Rigiyar lemon, Bachirawa, and Kurna axis of the state.
The police said it arrested an additional six suspected masterminds of violence, destruction and looting of properties including the Kano printing press during the protest.
Kano Commissioner of Police, CP Salman Dogo Garba gave the account while briefing journalists on the update on the protest.
The commissioner said the command successfully curtailed the uprising instigated by hoodlums under the guise of a nationwide protest with a degree of achievements in crime prevention and management.
Garba said the command has charged 600 suspects of the protest with criminal conspiracy, inciting disturbance, riot, theft, mischief and arson.
The police chief disclosed that suspects arrested in connection with waving of the Russian flag during the protest have been moved to police headquarters, Abuja for investigation on charges of sedition.
