Top echelons of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State on Thursday rallied the people of Esanland who make up the Edo Central Senatorial District to support and vote for the party’s governorship candidate, Monday Okpebholo, in the September 21st governorship election.

Leading the pack of political leaders, a former Governor of the state, and senator representing Edo North Senatorial District, Adams Oshiomhole pleaded with the people of Esan land to support the governorship candidate to bring about development to the state and Esanland.

While wooing the Esan people ahead of the September governorship election, Oshiomhole said he believes in Okpebholo as a good candidate who will listen to the yearning of the people.

Oshiomhole added that he is happy supporting Okpebholo because he has seen what he can do as a colleague and senator.

The APC leaders spoke during the Edo Central Senatorial APC Flag off the campaign in Uromi, Headquarters of Esan North East Local Government Council Area.

Also speaking at the rally, former governorship candidate of the party, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu said the rally signals good things to come and the end of the PDP in the state and the government of Obaseki.

According to him, the Obaseki administration in which Asue Ighodalo was the Economic Adviser has plunged the state into debt.

He said Ambrose Alli University (AAU) Ekpoma is poorly funded as against when Adams Oshiomhole was governor.

In his speech, the APC candidate for the September 21st governorship election, Okpebholo said that he is the best man for the job as a result of his vast experience as a successful entrepreneur and federal lawmaker.

He assured that when voted governor, he would change the narratives of governance for the betterment of the people.

Okpebholo called on the people of the state not to allow the looting of public funds to continue with Obaseki’s third-term agenda through his godson, Asue Ighodalo.
