Hanson began his academic journey at Yaba College of Technology in 2004, where he studied Mechanical Engineering. Despite financial constraints, he excelled, ranking among the top 3 in his class.

His determination to push his boundaries led him to pursue further studies at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), the nation’s leading institution at the time.

Hanson’s first significant encounter with the energy industry came during an undergraduate internship with Exxon Mobil in 2009. This experience was pivotal, offering him a firsthand look at the complexity and scale of operations within the energy sector. In his most recent position as Field Operations Team Leader, Hanson oversaw Shell’s largest and most complex integrated oil and gas operations. He led a team of 180 operations and maintenance personnel, ensuring the safe and efficient production of hydrocarbons, which generated a daily revenue of $5.12 million.

Hanson’s exceptional performance consistently placed him among the top tier of performers within Shell and the broader industry. His efforts were recognized with an outstanding performance ranking, placing him in the top quartile of Shell’s global workforce.
