PDP warns Wike, ‘No one is above party’

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has responded to the former Governor of Rivers State and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, affirming that no individual is above the party.

During the PDP state congress at the party’s secretariat in Port Harcourt on Saturday, Wike warned PDP governors against interfering in the party’s affairs in Rivers State, threatening to “put fire in their states.”

He declared, “Let me assure all of you, not while we live will anybody take away the structure of the PDP from us. But let me tell people, I hear some governors who say they will take over the structure and give it back to somebody.”

In response, at an ongoing press conference in Abuja, PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, stated, “What I can tell you is that nobody is above this party. It is the Peoples Democratic Party.”

Ologunagba added, “What we have done is set up bodies (reconciliation and disciplinary committees) and given them the mandate to do the job. We will wait for their report.”
