Abiodun’s policies will improve quality of lives, says APC chieftain
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former House of Representatives aspirant in Ogun State, Gbenga Akinwande, has described the progress the state has made under Governor Dapo Abiodun’s leadership as commendable.
He also lauded the current government’s policies, describing them as progressive and people-oriented. Akinwande, who noted that on August 19, 2024, Abiodun launched the harvest of a 200-hectare rice farm in Magboro, in Obafemi-Owode Local Council, said that the initiative had greatly benefited out-growers, including many young people and women, helping them to overcome poverty in the process.
He said that the governor’s plan to expand the project to 2,000 hectares, with future goals set at 5,000 hectares, was well-conceived. Akinwande expressed the belief that the initiatives would strengthen Ogun State’s economy, empower its citizens, and enhance security.
He reasoned that by investing in electric mobility and establishing the Giga Facility, Abiodun was positioning the state as a leader in sustainable development and technological advancement.
He also noted that allocating land to the Nigerian Navy (NN) for a Forward Operating Base highlights the governor’s commitment to both economic development and national security.
Akinwande, who is a candidate in the upcoming local council elections, vowed to continue following the governor’s path if elected as Chairman of Yewa North Local Council.
He said: “If elected as Chairman of Yewa North Local Council, I would be committed to building on Governor Abiodun’s legacy of development and progress, ensuring that every resident benefits from sustainable growth.
“I will continue with the governor’s vision for our people, focusing on economic empowerment, infrastructure development, and enhancing the quality of life for our citizens.
“My goal is to mirror the exemplary leadership of Abiodun in Yewa North Local Council, driving initiatives that will uplift our communities and create opportunities for all.”
