The National Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (N-HYPPADEC), in partnership with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), has launched a training initiative focused on business name registration.

The programme, aimed at members of the National Youth Council of Nigeria from six N-HYPPADEC member states, is part of a broader youth empowerment drive. Managing Director Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa inaugurated the training, emphasising its significance within the commission’s ongoing Youth Transformation Programme.

He highlighted that over 5,000 young people from Kebbi, Kwara, Kogi, Niger, Benue, and Plateau states have already received training in various vocational and technical skills, including computer technology, engineering, tailoring, make-up artistry, and handicrafts.

Yelwa asserted that the business registration training would equip beneficiaries with distinct brand identities, legal protection, and market credibility. He further explained that formal registration opens doors to financial services, government support programmes, and potential partnerships, fostering growth and sustainability for their enterprises.

“Nurturing talent and creating opportunities for our youth is a core mandate of N-HYPPADEC,” Yelwa stated, underscoring the commission’s commitment to youth development.

Yasin Abubakar, Deputy Director of Community and Rural Development, represented by the Special Assistant to the MD on Technical Matters, echoed this sentiment.

He emphasised the management’s pivotal role in initiating and overseeing the Youth Transformation Programme, highlighting it as one of the commission’s most ambitious and impactful initiatives.
