Enoh hails Super Eagles, Paralympians for victories
Senator John Enoh, Nigeria’s Minister of Sports Development, has commended the Super Eagles for their impressive performance in the AFCON qualifier match against Benin Republic. The team triumphed with a 3-0 victory at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.
“Bravo! Let’s keep soaring, Super Eagles!” Senator Enoh wrote on his social media handle, celebrating their success.
The minister also praised Nigeria’s Paralympic athletes for their remarkable achievements at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.
Flora Ugwunwa won a silver medal in the Women’s Javelin F54 category with a throw of 19.26 meters.
In the Women’s 79 kg Para Powerlifting category, Bose Omolayo secured a silver medal by lifting 145kg. Isau Ogunkunle earned a bronze medal in the Men’s Singles Class 4 Para Table Tennis event, becoming the first Nigerian athlete to win an individual medal in Para Table Tennis since the Sydney 2000 Games.
Senator Enoh expressed immense pride in the athletes’ accomplishments, stating, “Their dedication, resilience, and passion embody the true spirit of Nigeria and continue to inspire millions.”
He also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting Para sports and ensuring Nigerian athletes receive the necessary backing to excel internationally, emphasizing, “Our champions have proven that disability is not a limitation.”
