
A fire outbreak on Saturday morning destroyed parts of the Sokoto State Police Command headquarters, burning at least six offices.
The fire, which started in the administrative block, was eventually contained by firefighters.
The cause of the fire remains unknown.
Confirming the incident, the command’s spokesperson, Ahmed Rufai, said, “Yes, there was a fire incident on Saturday at the headquarters of the command in the state. It affected about six offices at the administrative block. The fire service later put it out.”
He added that the full extent of the damage has yet to be determined as the incident occurred during the weekend.
