Principal, Babcock University High School, Bolanle Adebawonjo, has advised the 270 graduands of the school to imbibe the spirit of hard work, desire for learning, and commitment to responsibilities, reminding that the journey ahead requires greater preparedness.
Addressing the graduands at the 29th graduation and awards ceremony of the school, Adebawonjo noted that to survive in the present world, integrity and positivity are essential, saying these qualities would place them above others anywhere they find themselves.
Adebawonjo said the graduands have acquired lifelong learning, and urged them to use the knowledge acquired to chart a better path for themselves.
She said: “As you go into the outside world, and take the mantle of responsibility for this community and the country, please be kind. The world you inherited today needs people of integrity. Remember that learning is a lifelong journey. Embrace it with the same enthusiasm and determination that you have shown here.
“You have the tools, the knowledge and the spirit to achieve great things. Now, a good life and good choices often go hand in hand. And you will have billions of choices ahead of you over the course of your life, especially over the next handful of years.”
She urged the graduands to keep their heads high and be the best version of themselves amid challenges facing the country.
“You have the power to make a difference, to create positive change and achieve great things. The future is bright, and it is yours for the taking,” she added.
Alumni President, Jonathan Dangana, emphasised on meaningful connections, urging the students to connect with them in order to navigate any academic and professional challenges they may encounter.
The valedictorian, Olubomehin Gold, appreciated the management for always coming to their aid, especially in navigating the twists and turns of learning.
