The Emir of Minna, Umar Faruq Bahago, has refuted report attributed to him calling on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to probe past leaders and administrations in the country.

He, therefore, cautioned all district heads and turbaned chiefs in his kingdom to remain neutral and refrain from commenting on issues on his behalf without seeking his prior approval and clearance.

The Emir’s warning was contained in a statement signed by the Secretary of Minna Emirate Council, Garba Musa Kuta, at the weekend in reaction to a news report circulating on social media attributed to one of the turban chiefs in the emirate, Musa Adamu Maikudi (Achaza), the Hadimin Minna.

Maikudi was quoted in news report during a citizenry sensitisation event calling on President Bola Tinubu to intensify probe of past leaders and administrations in the country with a view to recovering looted funds.

The event was to sensitise citizens on Federal Government’s intervention programmes at the states and local council levels organised by the office of the Minister of Information and National Orientation in Minna.

The monarch stated that he remains neutral concerning matters of politics in Niger State and the country, adding that as a traditional ruler, he is a father to all and will not take side with any social or political group.

He, however, reaffirmed his and the emirate’s unwavering support to the administration of Tinubu and enjoined the President to remain focused in his drive to reposition the country’s economy.
