Firm advocates sustainable energy practices, deployment of CNG stations

A subsidiary of Connect Energy Group, CGAS Energy, has charged stakeholders including government bodies, and the public to support the initiative of promoting sustainable energy practices that benefit the people and the planet.

It called for the introduction of more Mobile CNG filling stations to enhance energy accessibility, and environmental sustainability and foster a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.

Managing Director, CGAS Energy, Sesan Phillips, gave the charge at the signing of an agreement with Motor Jikov Group towards establishing a network of Compressed Natural Gas Mobile filling stations across the country.  The move is expected to promote cleaner and more sustainable energy solutions for the nation.

He said: “We are excited to partner with Motor Jikov Group to deliver sustainable energy solutions that align with Nigeria’s ambitious development goals. This collaboration represents a significant step towards a greener future, where clean energy sources play a vital role in powering our economy.”

Speaking on the initiative, the Chief Executive Officer of CGAS Energy, Tim Talabi, noted that as Nigeria grapples with increasing demand for energy, the partnership would help to reduce reliance on traditional fossil fuels.

He explained that CGAS Energy’s extensive expertise in energy solutions, combined with Motor Jikov Group’s innovative technology in CNG infrastructure, positions the partnership for a pivotal role in Nigeria’s energy landscape.

According to him, the synergy will also create a robust supply chain that ensures the availability of CNG for transportation and other sectors, drive economic growth and enhance energy security.

He said the Motorjikov’s mobile CNG stations are designed to meet the growing demand for CNG, particularly in remote areas and places where traditional re-fuelling infrastructure is limited, adding that the mobile units offer quick deployment and flexibility to serve businesses, transport companies, and residential areas that are transitioning to CNG.

“By reducing dependence on permanent stations, the mobile units offer a cost-effective, scalable solution to accelerate Nigeria’s adoption of clean energy. The mobile filling units are also equipped to operate efficiently under various conditions, making them ideal for Nigeria’s diverse landscape. Available facilities of the CNG Mobile Filling Units include MJ Compact 05, MJ Variant, MJ Variant Plus and the MJ Compact Plus,” he added.

Director at Motor Jikov Group, Jiri Zetocha, said the partnership is not just about business but making a lasting impact on the environment and communities. He noted that the firm is committed to providing innovative solutions that meet Nigeria’s energy demands sustainably.
