A youth-led civic tech organisation, AdvoKC Foundation, has planned to unveil an enhanced Promise Tracker Platform (promisetracker.ng) during the 2024 edition of Civic Fest Africa, on October 1, 2024, aimed at empowering citizens and ensuring that elected officials are accountable to the fulfillment of their commitments.
The innovative platform represents a significant leap forward in the organisation’s mission to enhance transparency, accountability, and citizens’ engagement in Nigeria.
Communications Manager for the AdvoKC Foundation, Luqman Adamu, said that the AdvoKC team, with support from CIVICUS through its Digital Action Lab (DAL), had since June 2024 been working on the more sophisticated and automated website, designed to streamline and improve the process of tracking electoral promises made by elected officials.
Adamu said: “We are excited to introduce this enhanced platform at Civic Fest Africa ’24, especially as the event aims to increase civic consciousness using various forms of art.
“This ties into our goal of increasing political participation and citizen engagement in Nigeria.”
The new promise tracker platform will provide a more user-friendly, interactive, and efficient experience for citizens, making it easier than ever to follow the progress of commitments made by their leaders.
Besides, the new promise tracker will ensure advanced automation for real-time updates and accurate tracking of electoral promises, a user-friendly interface, enhanced data visualisation, and mobile accessibility.
