Officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) have arrested a driver following an incident yesterday on the Oshodi-Apapa Expressway.
The driver of a Toyota Camry, with registration number KTU 447 EV, was driving recklessly through a busy section of Ewenla/Charity near Oshodi, heading towards Mile 2, when he struck a pedestrian.
The pedestrian sustained serious injuries. LASTMA officers were quickly on the scene to assist the injured pedestrian, who was rushed to Comfort Hospital in Mafoluku, Oshodi, for medical treatment.
The driver was apprehended at the scene and, along with the vehicle, was handed over to officers from Mafoluku Police Station for further investigation.
LASTMA urged road users to exercise caution and adhere to traffic regulations, stressing the importance of pedestrian and motorist safety.
