1)Can you tell our readers about yourself? Where you are from?

My name is Viergela Deshommes also known as “Vergie Love”. I am a passionate lover of performing arts and music. I wear many hats as an Advance Nurse Practitioner, a songwriter, and a singer.

I am also a proud veteran of the United States Navy, I earned the Navy and Marine Corps Medal of Honor for my service. I hold a master’s degree from the University of South University in Savannah, Georgia, and I am a licensed nurse practitioner providing essential primary care services to underserved populations in Southwest Florida. I am the owner of Avous Med Spa, where I specialize in adult gerontology and anti-aging, promoting overall health and wellness. With 18 years of experience, I am committed to promoting disease prevention and enhancing client’s well-being through personalized care.

2) Why did you decide to pursue music as a career?

Singing and writing songs have been my escape from life’s struggles since childhood, where growing up with a single mother working two jobs left me with plenty of alone time to nurture my creativity. Performing became a source of joy and expression, allowing me to channel my experiences into art.

3)Why do you go by the name Vergie Love?

I chose the name Vergie Love because it reflects my deep passion for music and life, with “Love” symbolizing the warmth and positivity I aim to share through my art. It represents the energy I bring to both my personal and creative journeys, always rooted in love and connection.

4) Where do you see yourself in the next 5yrs?

In the next five years, I see myself as a successful business entrepreneur, expanding Avous Med Spa and Wellness while also pursuing my musical career fully. With a clear focus on my goals, I envision myself gaining worldwide recognition as an artist, and sharing my music and creativity with a global audience. I am committed to achieving success in both worlds.

5) How do you handle the pressure from men being a female artist and a mother?

I am a faithful, family-oriented woman who remains deeply loyal to my family and partner, always prioritizing the people I love. While staying true to my personal values, I am also committed to delivering great music and memorable concert experiences for my fans, ensuring they are pleased with every release and performance. Balancing my family life with my passion for music is at the core of who I am.

6) You are a new artist on the rise, and yet so little is known of you? Why is that?

I am not so well-known in the music industry because, for the past 20 years, I devoted my energy and love to raising my children and building a successful career in the medical field. Balancing these responsibilities left little time to fully pursue my passion for music, but my love for it has always remained strong. And now I have decided to give it my full attention.

7) Do you have plans for an EP, album release or new music in the near future?

I don’t have any plans to release an album or EP yet, at least not this year. But I plan to release 2 singles. “Fantasy “and “Nicole” with new music videos before the year runs out.

8) Some artists prefer to freestyle when they record, they say the spontaneity helps their creative process, while others prefer to write first before they record.

No I don’t like to freestyle, I prefer to write first before recording and vibing to the melody. I always prefer to listen to the beats/instrumentals first and feel the vibes then write according to how it’s speaks to me or how it makes me feel.

9) How do you decide what you write or sing about in your songs?

When I write a song, I aim to keep my audience entertained while connecting with them on a personal level. I often draw inspiration from my own life experiences, both the good and the bad, allowing my music to resonate with listeners and reflect real emotions and stories.

10) Looking at your life’s journey, is there anything you would change about your life given the chance?

I don’t think there’s anything I would change about my life or do differently because all my experiences are the sum total of who i am and what makes me tick.

11) Are you signed to any label?

Yes I am signed to “True High Class Entertainment” an Indy label imprint.

12) Do you have any pieces of advice for upcoming artistes out there?

My advice to others like myself out there is this “Never give up on your dreams, always stay true to yourself and keep a positive outlook even when things aren’t working out exactly how you want it or planned it.
