“A team of detectives led by ASP Momoh Stephen immediately conducted an investigation at Ibafo Division, where the suspect was handed over and re-arrested.

“During interrogation, Audu confessed to murdering Saheed and stealing his Bajaj motorcycle and Tecno phone. The crime scene is located along the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) pipeline in Ibekpa, Sagamu.

“Marks of violence were found on the deceased’s body; photographs were taken, and the corpse was removed and placed in the Live-Well Hospital mortuary in Sagamu for a post-mortem examination.

“Efforts are ongoing to capture any additional suspects who fled the scene, and the case will soon be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Abeokuta, for a thorough investigation.”
